Ilektra Arsenidou is a researcher, dance and theatre practitioner, and theatrologist based in London and Athens. Her background includes studying dance at the Hellenic National School of Dance and the Professional Dance School Rallou Manou, and theatre studies at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, as well as receiving a full scholarship for her studies in acting at the Theatre of Changes in Athens. She also completed an MRes degree in Performance and Choreography from the University of Roehampton in London.

Her research interests explore the interplay between human experience and imagined worlds, interweaving them in order to generate narratives and characters that both reveal and subtly reconfigure the realities they inhabit. Working at the intersection of movement, imagery, text, and sound, her practice takes diverse forms — from dance theatre performances to improvised participatory projects. Her work is particularly concerned with how social phenomena shape both inner psychic landscapes and the external spaces we collectively construct and inhabit, including speculative and “outer” spaces as sites of projection, desire, and transformation.

She believes in the integral connection between theory and practice and explores both aspects in her work. Her current creative practice involves exploring  somatic ways to coexisting and cocreating through sound, which she calls "sonic physical dramaturgy." This approach allows her to redefine characters, stories, and texts using a choreographic and theatrical lens.
